When you establish your business with STEPS, the Registered Agent service is complimentary for the first year, regardless of which formation package you choose. After the initial year, the service is available for only $49/year.
Yes, you can opt to be your own Registered Agent if you fulfill specific requirements. This includes being consistently available during normal business hours and having a physical address in the state where your business is located (sorry but not PO Boxes.) However, it's important to consider that this role requires strict punctuality, exceptional organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail to ensure no crucial documents are overlooked.
